Pedal 4 wins at BIG SEE Awards 2026

Pedal 4 has taken home two awards at BIG SEE Product Design Awards 2026, a Winner award and the Grand Prix in the Mobility and Transportation category.

Cities are being paralysed by inefficient vans. The answer isn't another van, it's a smaller and smarter solution. That's exactly what Pedal 4 is.

Designed and manufactured in our London micro-factory by co-founders Joe Allum, Patrick Bion, and Liam Sill, the Pedal 4 is a purpose-built, four-wheeled, pedal-assist vehicle engineered to move goods faster, cheaper, and with a radically smaller footprint.

Product Design Engineer, Sean Heaney travelled to Portorož, Slovenia to collect the awards on behalf of the team, presenting Minimal's mission and the design thinking behind Pedal 4 to a room of international industry leaders.

"Our mission is to rethink how things move. By deeply intertwining engineering and design, we proved that you don't need to add complexity to create something beautiful. As we say at Minimal: everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler." - Sean Heaney

At the heart of the Pedal 4's design is a commitment to true functional minimalism, every decision driven by the question of what's actually necessary. By reimagining vehicle geometry from the ground up, we reduced part counts and fastening methods without compromising on robustness or serviceability. The exposed zinc-coated steel frame isn't a stylistic choice; it's the logical result of building only what's needed. Satin-black metal covers, a rotationally moulded front bumper with iconic circular lights, and a continuous curved rear cargo box all follow the same principle, functional components that earn their place visually as well as practically.

The same thinking extends to the rider and operator experience. A proprietary keyless entry system integrates natively with our FleetOS backend, giving operators live GPS tracking, over-the-air updates, and deep service analytics. No unnecessary friction, at any level.

It's this coherence of thinking, from frame geometry to fleet software, that resonated with the BIG SEE judges and saw Minimal named winner in two categories.
